Language Selection Form

The Language Selection Form only applies to students entering Years 5 or 6 in 2020.

Planning for our allocation of Language Other Than English (LOTE) classes for 2020 is now underway and we need to know which language your son would like to select for study next year.

The study of a second language is compulsory for students in Years 5 and 6, and we do our best to accommodate each student's first preference. Sometimes, the need to ensure balanced numbers across each of the languages does mean that, sometimes, we cannot guarantee boys will receive their first preference.

The languages we intend to offer in 2020 are:

• German
• French
• Chinese (Mandarin)

Students will not be able to change their language allocation during Year 5 or Year 6. Upon entering Year 7, they can either continue with the language they have been studying in the Junior School, or change to another language.

NOTE: You may have strong family or cultural reasons for wanting your son to study a particular language. Should this be the case, we ask you to please advise us of this using the relevant section section of the form. If you do express a strong preference and we have difficulty giving your son his first choice, we will contact you for further discussion.
